New records for Antrim, Down & Monaghan

The May issue of Clann announces the addition of 27,000 Church of Ireland records from Counties Antrim and Down as well as 40,000 (Catholic and Protestant) records from County Monaghan.

The specific types of records, names of churches, and years covered can be viewed at https://flipflashpages.uniflip.com/2/71043/351046/pub/html5.html#page/4, which is page 4 of the newsletter. Search the records at www.rootsireland.ie/

The Clann article which accompanies the listing of new records highlights some of the unusual entries (e.g., occupations and causes of death). Also included in this issue are several family stories about 1) the Shorts of County Wicklow, 2) the Taylors of Swords, 3) the O’Kelly brothers of Leinster, and 4) the Kaveneys of Sligo. One can read about the “twinning” of the towns of Kilkenny, Minnesota, and Kilkenny City, Ireland – plus news from many of the family history centres.

Clann is a publication of the Irish Family History Foundation.
