More about Diaspora of the Wild Atlantic Way

Just yesterday I posted about the “Diaspora of the Wild Atlantic Way” family history conference which will take place in Ennis, County Clare, on September 23-24. Here’s a way you can “be there” without buying a plane ticket.

The Clare Roots Society plans a special exhibition of stories and letters from Irish/Clare emigrants on opening night. You can participate by sending one of the following:

  1. A copy of a letter sent from overseas (U.S., Australia, etc.) home to Ireland or from Ireland overseas. NO ORIGINALS please.
  2. A story and a picture of an ancestor who emigrated from Ireland. The story should be limited to 1-2 pages.

If you have a letter or a story, email Clara Hoyne (secretary@clareroots.org) and she’ll advise about next steps.

What a good reason to begin writing about your Irish ancestor!
