World’s largest indexing event

FamilySearch is soliciting volunteers to help with a 72-hour indexing event, “to save the world’s records by making them searchable to the public.”

Volunteers participate by downloading the FamilySearch software, a program that stores copies of scanned old records. Then, over three days, complete as many record batches as you want by typing information from the scanned images into the program. The FamilySearch announcement says anyone with a computer and an Internet connection can do it.
