Quilt finds home on Irish Ridge

A raffle quilt made as a fund-raiser for the Celtic Connections Conference has a new home on ‘Irish Ridge’ near Eyota, MN.

Mary G. bought one $2 raffle ticket last April. With the luck of the Irish, her name was drawn on Saturday, August 6.

The quilt label is shaped like Ireland.

The quilt label is shaped like Ireland.

The quilt is called “Shades of Green: Memories of Ireland” and evokes the Irish landscape as seen from the air.

Mary says her Ancestry DNA test indicates she’s 71% Irish. She rattled off family names including McCarthy, Donnelly, and others.

I’m happy the quilt found a good Irish home.
