New England Catholic records – free webinar

Are you researching Catholic ancestors from Massachusetts or elsewhere in New England? Have you heard about the Historic Catholic Records Online project? Then you’ll be interested in this free webinar.

New England Historic Genealogical Society (NEHGS) is digitizing and making available the sacramental records of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Boston from 1789 through 1900. These records, from more than 150 parishes, include baptisms, marriages, deaths, and other events in the lives of Roman Catholics in Massachusetts and beyond.

They invite you to join them a webinar in which they will discuss the history of Catholics in New England, what can be found in the records, the process of making them available online, and how to view and search them.  The webinar will be held Thursday, July 20, 2017, at 2-3 pm CDT. Leading the presentation will be Jean Maguire, Library Director. Register for FREE: register.gotowebinar.com.

Can’t attend a live broadcast? Not a problem! You will be able to watch a recording of the presentation on the website following the broadcast.
