Can you help?

The Irish Genealogical Society International (IGSI) is a volunteer organization dedicated to helping people discover their Irish heritage and ancestry. 

Since we are an all-volunteer organization with no office phone or staff, we rely on our volunteer coordinator to connect willing members with tasks that need to be done.  Our current volunteer coordinator needs to take some time off for family issues. We’re looking for someone to help out on a temporary basis for the next few months.

It’s a great way to get to know more about the organization and its members. And you can work from home!

What does the volunteer coordinator do?  The principal duty is to handle emails from people responding to IGSI requests for help. For example, in coming months we’ll be looking for volunteers to staff the IGSI table at Family History Day and the MGS North Star Conference.  Also on the horizon are tasks within the library requiring volunteers. The volunteer coordinator will connect members with the IGSI project or committee needing help, perhaps scheduling volunteers for a particular shift and confirming via email.

Since this is a short-term position, the volunteer coordinator will be paired with a board member for advice and support. No long-term commitment necessary!
