Corrections made to 1901/1911 census

John Grenham reports the first round of census corrections have gone live on the National Archives website.

Grenham completed a review of 15,962 emails received between 25 Oct 2017 and 11 Sep 2017 and determined what changes were warranted. Users have been submitting reports about incorrect transcriptions. If you were among them, check to see if the entry is now accurate:   http://census.nationalarchives.ie/.

What a gargantuan job! In the process, Grenham feels he has gotten to know the submitters and developed empathy for the original transcribers.

And don’t forget, you can see and hear Grenham in person at the 2018 Celtic Connections:   http://blog.irishgenealogical.org/?p=8240.
