Free access to some Findmypast records

Findmypast, in association with the National Archives, has launched a new online collection of government records that tell the story of people who fought for women’s suffrage. Called the Suffragette Collection, these records will be free to access until International Women’s Day (March 8).

The Suffragette Collection was launched to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the passage of the 1918 Representation of the People Act, which gave property-owning women and female graduates over the age of 30 the right to vote.

In addition, Findmypast is offering free access to all UK and Irish Census records and civil Birth/Marriage/Death records until February 8, to allow researchers to learn more about their female ancestors.
