The second Saturday of each month is “Irish Saturday” at the Minnesota Genealogical Society library (now known as the William J. Hoffman Library and Research Center). However, unlike most other months, no Irish genealogy classes are scheduled in December.

New Hours at the MGS Library in 2014

Hours at the Minnesota Genealogical Society (MGS) Library will change effective 1 January 2014:

Wednesdays 10am – 4 pm

Thursdays 10am – 4 pm and 6-9 pm

Saturdays 10am – 4 pm

3rd Sundays of the month 1-4 pm

No access to Origins.net at MGS on May 4

One of the benefits of visiting the Minnesota Genealogical Society library is free access to Origins.net, “the premier source for tracing your British and Irish ancestors.” Origins.net will be making upgrades to their servers on Saturday, May 4. Consequently, the site will not be available from 2 AM to 1 PM (Minnesota time).
